Btw does anyone know an adblocker that can still effectively block YT ads? Pref on chrome though I'll use another browser if necessary.

I have been using uBlock Origin for a long time and did not cause any issue yet.

The reason the plugin stops working is because Chrome dropped support for Manifest V2. Edge are expected to follow suit, so it will break there too.

I've not been keeping a close eye on it because I don't use any plugins that are effected, but from what I understand Vivaldi and Brave have said they will carry on supporting Manifest V2.

There are also non-Chromium browsers, i.e. FireFox based browsers. Like I said the other day, FireFox have recently said they're selling your "anonymous" data, so I perhaps wouldn't recommend FireFox itself, but there are many forks of it. I personally use Zen Browser. It's still in beta, so a little buggy, but I really like it.
