@ Bob
Drinking because "you have nothing better to do" doesn't seem like a very good reason to me :P. But whatever works for you.

@ Hunter
I definately agree there on the driving thing :D.

I only drink alcohol when I have a taste for it and there's no caffeine drinks lying around the house. Haven't drank it in about 4 months because my parents know this too :P .

@ Cycerin
Even people underage can drink.. their parents and such are bound to have alcohol if they drink themselves.

If you ask me personally.. saying no to alcohol shows a sign of maturity moreso than saying yes.

Yeah, great point. :P 14 year old nerds still don't drink alcohol.

Anyway, drinking alcohol is no sign of immaturity to me. Rather, not having control of your own drinking is immature. Drinking to get drunk is immature. Enjoying alcoholic beverages for the taste and in social gatherings is great. If you, like me, make sure to not drink yourself blind even when presented with abundant alcohol, that's maturity.
Lifes a shit.. deal w/ it..its impossible to have a good day wow fuck this gay earth much??

I know people that age who do. Not that they get massively drunk or something. But they drink have some alcohol.

Drinking in moderation can be seen as mature as well, or maturer than the other things you mention anyway.

I pride myself on being one of the few people I know who will not have tasted or drank alcohol before the age of 21. For me that's an accomplishment, because today there are so many kids that drink before they're even 16.

My parents gave me wine when young, say about 10ish, this gave me ataste and meant that i did not binge when i turned 18. In a cross section of society a selection of underage drinkers will always exist. however (and i realise this is a generalisation) people obsessed with underage drinking dont tend to write on forums to the rest of us.

Tonight was the most alcohol ive had in 2-3 weeks, i had a glass of wine with dinner and a can of bitter while chatting to housemates. I am now drinking cold water to keep me hydrated (i have issues without alcohol about hydration leading to migranes) throughout the night and i will be refreshed from a heavier sleep tomorrow morning.

I am with Cycerin in the fact i like the taste of various beverages and dont enjoy being out of control.
