25% to 100% more damage per bullet actually :P . Better range, accuracy, much much more damage, penetration (same as a machinegun or barrett), and comparable or even less actual recoil make the deagle basically better than all the other pistols put together.

But really I'm not that afraid of pistols being overpowered; the assault rifles make me much more nervous. Assault rifles in CoD 4 were already the over-the-top-tier of weapons with at number 1 the stupendously overpowered AK-47 which was so powerful that in any serious game you stood exactly zero chance of getting 1st if you didn't have it, but the first multiplayer trailer showed an assault rifle which matched the AK-47's ridiculous two-or-three hit kill mechanism but with seemingly even less recoil. At the peril of making blatant statements before I've even played the game I fear that inevitably fantastic as the gameplay is going to be, MW2 is going to be even more noob-centred than MW1 was. User-friendliness is one thing, dumbing down the game is quite another.

Robert Bowling's response to the outcry of OP in regards to akimbo weapons: http://forums.infinityward.com/viewtopic.p...530216#p1530216

The main bit:
Now to calm some initial fears of "OMG! Overpowered!". Akimbo is limited and balanced, just like EVERYTHING in the game. It's limited to sidearms, harder to aim than standard and you can't go ADS (aim down sights) since you have a weapon in each hand; Among other balancing techniques, so don't freak out before you see it in action.

The novelty factor is probably enough reason to use it anyway, at least for most people (incl. me)

Well a sniper vs a dude running around with an SMG... there's only so much you can do to balance it. (just look at RL).

You do realise that even in those situations even the SMG prevails (unless its a "l33t" sniper abusing game mechanics by jumping and swinging his aim fast enough to have 100% accurate shots)

as much as he spams if his opponent has Juggernaut (there is a 70% chance he will) then he is totally screwed

Sniper rifles had the biggest hipspread of all weapons in the game - hitting an opponent even once and even at point-blank range is very unlikely.

But most Snipers who do this also have bandoliers and steady aim to give ample ammo supply and better hip firing so they can effectively no scope people close up.

Especially the people who used the ACOG'ed M-40.

Oh come on :sly: . If they kill me with that, they deserve the kill for completely wasting two perfectly fine perk slots on perks that really don't fit a sniper class :sly: . Besides, even with steady aim, snipers are dreadfully inaccurate from the hip; even with steady aim the hip accuracy is about half again as bad as that of machineguns.

Still not really since you'll only be able to pull off one shot with terrible accuracy |8 .

Apparantly a claymore was a rejected idea for the MW2 prestige edition xD

Of the same series there's also some leaked co-op footage:

EDIT: apparently they're going to release that trailer in full quality on tuesday.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT - I JUST SHAT AN IRON GIRDER.

I saw the following:
-player is holding a SCAR-H assault rifle at the start with a 20-round magazine
-yup, riot shields - they look as if they stay in front of you permanently
-CTF gametype
-bloody hand team?
-screen to indicate who you killed which sport a personal motto and what seem to be avatars (also after kill streaks by enemies)
-weapon pickup: "SCAR-H bling" & "Steyr AUG HBAR bling" probably a "bling" skin
-airstrike is back
-3-kill streak = UAV
-weapon pickup: HK MP5K (YYYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAH) though a really crazy variant of it with an old trigger group but very modern RIS/RAS-style look
-4-kill streak = airdrop
-5-kill streak = predator missile
-weapon pickup: "TAR-21 FMJ"
-USP .45 is back
-equipment: throwing knife (possibly a perk)

As an addon: also noticed:
-AA-12
-Host migration, getting rid of those stupid host-leaves-game-game-stops problems on console-hosted games
-some varient of an MP-5 with an "extended mag" (maybe a new perk?)
-different critical health warning screen effect
-M-82 will be making a return

Has anyone else noticed that there haven't been any M-16s or M-4s showed yet?
