Try reducing the size of the initial explosion glare a bit, it overpowers everything else.

Agreed, plus it looks a little strange since its so big and "flat"

Eh, how many times will I have to remind that it's intended to be big? No one says I was going for hardcore realistic feel.
Actually it has height of china nuke.

If thats your intention, then fine. It is just my opinion that it would look better if the flare didn't overpower everything.

One more suggestion, when you make your FX vids, don't blow up alot of stuff in the process. It can make it hard to tell what is from your FX and what is from the vehicles / buildings being blown up.

You should have had the heat effect keep going until the shockwave died out imo :P

Looks nice

Small question while we are at that heatwave: am I correct when I say that only the texture the Microwave tank uses for his heat-field will result in the heatwave effect (distortion)? Or is there some kind of secret setting that I'm unaware of?

You are right, though it's not really a texture, since there's no texture called smudge in the game files, it's a shader. I have no idea though what file is it and if it's possible to add/edit shaders.

As for the particle, pretty neat. :3

Nice one. One question: What unit launched it? As seen from the balistic pattern it should have stood somewhere just out of the screen.

If you watch it in HD, you'll see it came from that Nuke Cannon.

Yes, that's a nuke cannon. However this one has got bigger range as you see, I have also slapped edited missile defender trail to make the shell look like rocket powered.
And the heatwave is tricky. I have taken the particle code from microwave tank. There is some texture but it looks odd. Additionaly it is additive, and yet it uses 1.0 alpha transparency.
The most strange thing is the colours.
The ammount of specified colours in particle file is very big. I haven't found a way to make the particle fade out slowly, it just goes POP and that looks bad.

It looks good, but I couldn't see it in the thread so I had to quote your post and find the src="" link to it to watch, can anyone else see it? I tried in Chrome and Firefox btw(no luck in either).

Your explosions simple amazes me, but I do request that your earlier experimental explosions be brought back again, since there are problems loading the videos and your Aurora bomb explosion, do have a late sound reaction. :P

Failure's Photo Failure 27 Jun 2010

Well as you can see on the slowmo it's an airburst. However when the missile is killed the trail lives for a second for no reason.
There are problems because I had to delete that profile and it's videos. The old files are lost as well.
Which one would you like to see?

Also the delayed sound is intentional to make it sound like the game has got sound traveling technique, but I'm leaning to replacing the sound with normal one.
