They had the concepts and origins of the characters already planned out when they made the character concepts. Louis just looks so much more... unprepared.
I think they'll do some sort of promo where if you have the original L4D, then they'll drop 20 or 30 bucks off of the price of L4D2. I mean, Valve is always good when it comes to value. Lookit the Orange Box?

If you don't actually know why make a comment on it? OB is £17 on steam, £15 on Amazon / Play and i've seen it for as much as £24.99 in shops. And guess what? Even if it was 24.99 it would still be excellent value.

A couple of days old but some news on new vs tactics found here,
Quote
The early days of the mode saw Boomers standing on top of alarmed cars, tempting Survivors into taking a fatal shot. Now, log onto the Left 4 Dead servers and you'll find Smokers who know where they can get one-hit kills on each corner of the map, flaming Hunters and Boomers guarding fallen survivors.
Valve seems to have realised what the community was doing and the new specials reflect that - read our playtest for more info. Here's the difference between the current Left 4 Dead and what you can do now...
1. BEFORE: Some specials could break down walls but only in very specific areas on the map.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: Go on ahead to set a trap. Destroying shack walls and bringing down bridges (!) leaves survivors open to attack.
2. BEFORE: Boomers could kick off ambushes by puking on the survivors, so they can't see and save each other until the puke clears.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: Wait for the Mudmen to attack. Their ankle-biting swarm will probably keep them down, allowing you to attack from above.
3. BEFORE: An early glitch allowed specials to hit certain objects around the level, which meant they could block doorways. Valve removed the glitch as it could make levels impossible to complete.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: Use the Spitter to make doorways impassable, trapping the survivors in the path of the other specials - or ideally, a Tank.
4. BEFORE: Smokers could latch onto players and pull them into areas they're trying to avoid - through the metal detector in Dead Air, for example.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: As a Charger, attack when everybody's standing close together by the water. Knock them all in with one hit and they could all drown - and you'll get a bowling-based "Strike!" achievement for it.
5. BEFORE: Hunters remain hidden and use fallen survivors as bait. Boomers without vomiting could stand right on top of fallen survivors, forcing the survivors to blow him up and cover the fallen player in vomit.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: Don't forget the golden rule of Versus mode, be evil. Splattering a fallen survivor with spit means the others are less likely to rush to revive them.

Your right, its already pretty easy to kill survivors as it is. Now they introduce multiple routes, you can take out buildings / bridges. There are uncommon commons which force you to change tactics, and it seems you can never be still ever. Spitters / chargers / panic events not stopping until you reach B from A accomplish that.
I worry this will make it too easy to be good SI's, negating the need for good teamwork. On the other hand, it will mean those who work together are truly lethal. Also if they're changing the standard SI's from 3-5 it will maybe mean you get different combinations, you might not always get a boomer for instance, making pulling off the boom all the more important than it already is. I dunno though, still seems like they're making it to easy for SI's. Really depends how effective melee weapons are.
