I'm quite positive that I didn't use the word "crying" (or anything related to it) or criticized any of the involved parties explicitly.

Seems pretty counterproductive to leave the community that you practically created, but anyway.

The community ceased to be based around shw for a while now. Sure it still drew alot in but for most of the more active members the community was the sole reason. Shw is a great mod, but there is only so much you can do with an engine. This is one of the reasons there are really not many mods for ZH anymore the engine is past it, its time to move on and stop flogging a dead horse. *Waits for angry posts from people proclaiming shw is the best thing ever*

I agree with you. Zero Hour is getting pretty dated right now. I'd love to see some other projects here.

I'd hate to de-rail the thread anymore than it already is, but I'd love to see something Source based hosted here.

As far as I could tell, SWR mods were still the significant draw this forum had. Without it, what's the point of coming here?

Indeed. The results were a little varied, but currently the consensus is that the major draw this has for the members is the community, and not the mods.

Members stayed due to the community, but they joined due to the mods.

How active this forum is is more or less directly proportionate to how active ShW is, you know.

Now that the google searches for "Shockwave zero hour" aren't pointing here, I wonder how things will be.

I am saddened that SWR felt it necessary to leave Fallout Studios, but respect that it was their inalienable right to do so. You guys have played an absolutely pivotal role in making Fallout Studios what it is today and will not be forgotten. I hope that all parties can respect the motives of both SWR and the Fallout Studios leadership as borne simply out of different beliefs and different requirements, all of which have their place, and view this parting as something which will in the end provide everyone with what they want, though I do wish that it had not been necessary.

Fallout Studios will continue to grow, and though SWR brought most of us here, including myself, rest assured that the leadership has plans that will ensure that the community built up here does not suffer as a result of this departure. There may be a temporary lull in the registration of new members, but I am confident that with time Fallout Studios can again flourish as a home for the creativity and independence of its members in a range of projects and interest areas.

A world in which leaders respect the rights of their people, and nations seek peace, not destruction or domination. And neither we nor anyone else should live in fear ever again." - Wesley Clark

Well, as a Beta Tester I will stay both here and on the new forums. I don't care really, as long as the mods keep their high quality.

With respect to the people worried about Fallout Studios, we have a lot of new plans we intend to roll out.

Some more indie gaming projects would be great I reckon.

Johnny come lately here, but I'm sure most supporters (while probably confused on the resoning) still wish you luck in the future efforts and will come along for the journey at the new dedicated site.

I had some comments/questions, now that I actually got SW (and several other mods) finally working today. ;)
But I guess I can save them for the new forums...

Oooo, just thought of another question on top of that (lowers hand)... I can wait. heh.

This was not what I expected O_o. What will happen to Fallout Studios when its number one mod making community leaves out of the blue?

Probably nothing, because as many people have said, Fallout Studios isn't all about mods anymore.

When was the last time Shockwave updated?

I didn't even follow the SWR mods so this split/whatever you want to call it really won't affect me either way.
