You might want to agree with me they currently push Nightwish far away from the front :)

From the last page, I listened to the Demon Hunter that was posted by you some time ago, and I quite like it. Nice and loud stuff. On the same front, there are always some religious bands where you don't expect them. For example As I lay dying and Eluveitie poor from the same pot of motivational tea. Even a very hard metalcore band called ''Heaven Shall Burn'' is textually and thematically religious (straight edge).

And you'll wanna listen to Heaven Shall Burn too |8 mind the volume, might blow your ears off.

I've heard and have both some Eluveitie and ASID. Heaven shall burn wasn't bad at all, but my brother seemed to like it even more 8|

Anyways, I should probably update this.

Youtube has changed how it handles videos, so use the 480p version for HQ, or 720 for HD.

A sort of semi beautiful song, the variation from slow ballad to heavy metal throughout the song works well.

One of A7X's earlier songs, better than their newer stuff.

One of my favorite Dark Tranquillity songs.

One of Disturbed's best known songs, still its bloody awesome, so no harm posting it.

Has the same vocalist as Scar Symmetry did, thats enough to make it really good.

wow, it's been a while. nice selections!
the 3rd and 5th are good, while the 4th and 2nd are my favourites (they are in my daily playlist) :P
the first one sounds more like rock rather than metal, but still good.

anyway, what do you think about Trivium?
I like their songs from The Crusade album like Detonation, and Anthem.
I really want to see the live concert on 11 Feb, but the ticket is too expensive for me (because I missed the pre-sale). lol

I don't know Trvium that well, but I have some of their stuff. I could probably spend all my time downloading music I liked, theres so many good metal bands.

Holy Hell. That just blew my mind. Mind if I ask which album Misery's Crown is on, and does Dark Tranquility mostly sound that excellent?

Props on getting me into Nightwish Ion, and by the sounds of Epica Shock, I think I found a new favourite genre. Man I've got to get out of this bunker and re-introduce myself to Metal once more.

Its from the album fiction, and yes, that entire album is awesome. They've been around quite a while, so have alot of albums. My favorite are the latest three though - Fiction, Character and Damage Done.

Update time.

First of all, some cheesy metal - you'll see what I mean 8| - As for the genre, its speed / heavy metal.

Next, a new song from the upcoming Dark Tranquillity album "We are the void"
In particular I love the intro. I wish they would do more instrumentals.

This is Anders Fridens side project - Passenger. Anders Friden is the lead vocalist of In Flames, and was previously the lead vocalist for Dark Tranquillity.

I also have a soft spot for Rammstein.

I'm actually going to do against my "No Black Metal" and post this, you know I would probably like them if the backing vocalist was the main vocalist. I just really dislike the vocal style of BM in general. Shame, as the rest of the song is fucking epic.

Take a look at these guys as well - http://www.myspace.com/anterior And if you like what you hear, don't download it for free, buy it, its their debut.

No responses? Thats a first I think, oh well, heres another batch. Remember to listen in 480p, sounds hugely better than 360p.

Video for the above is fucking freaky if you can find it.

Well, to keep this going I'm posting a few suggestions.

36 Crazyfists, a very talented band from Alaska, of all places. I was looking for the song Kenai, but on youtube all I could find were mobile phone clips from live gigs.

I know you dislike Slipknot, Ion, but I'm sticking this in because I absolutely love that opening riff, as well as the Bass grooves.
I also absolutely love Nu Metal

I'm also a big fan of Deftones, and again, Nu Metal.

I discovered Atreyu on the Burnout 3 soundtrack, with their song "Right side of the Bed"
Since then they seem to have gained popularity, but are still nothing mainstream or at all extremely popular.

This is from the debut album of a swedish progressive metal band called Aspera. Its absolutely brilliant, and considering that the entire band is so young - 18-20 IIRC, they have tremendous potential.

A must listen for any fans of Symphony X, Dream theater and Nevermore.

So yeah first of all, I'm already downloading The Ripples album from iTunes, thanks for sharing such great music, even though I don't think this is really Metal, in fact I don't know if it's possible to make it fit in any music genre :P
Also, I was wondering if you knew of any good group similar to Epica, Sirenia and Tristania, as apart from a song of Epica, you didn't post any gothic metal song D:

You might want to try this. Its more symphonic than gothic, but its similar to Epica, although not as heavy as epicas latest offering.

Dream Theater, huh ? Very good choice, I especially like their "A Nightmare To Remember" song |8(it's one of the longest songs I've listened to btw :P)
And I didn't know that Dark Tranquility also did instrumental... Now I'm really regretting the fact that I didn't go at their last concert in Tunisia D;

They don't do many instrumentals sadly. I think thats the only one in fact, although i'm not a huge fan of their earlier stuff so I may be wrong.

Dream theater are just epic, they just have scores of amazing songs.

Heres just a few you should hear. I could probably list 50+ I would heavily recommend though.

A Nightmare to Remember - 16min
The Count of Tuscany - 19min
In the Presence of Enemies - 26min
The Great Debate - 14min
The Glass Prison - 14min
In the name of God - 14min
These Walls - 7min
Panic Attack - 8min
- The entirety of Metropolis Pt2 - Scenes from a memory - 1hr 17min
A Change of Seasons - 23min
Pull Me Under - 8min
Metropolis Pt1 - 9min
The Dark Eternal Night - 9min

The Dance of Eternity is part of Metropolis Pt2 - Scenes from a memory

I didn't forget About to Crash. If I listed every good dream theater song I may as well have just given a link to their discography.

Fear Factory is an Industrial Metal band that each album has its own sound which the above are some of their great ones.
The lyrics on their music is usually "Man Vs Machines" style, Dino Cazares stated once that the Demanufacture album is their "Master of Puppets".
Burton C. Bell from Fear Factory has been several times featured as a guest vocalist in other bands such as Spineshank, Static-X, Soulfly, Kilgore & Ministry.
He also have solo projects such as City of Fire which has Byron Stroud from Strapping Young Lad.

And now here's some more metal
