Alright, so you do AMAZING with your play style right? No ACOG. Well, for me? I do amazing when I use the stuff you guys are saying is so awful, its all who's behind the gun really. Not to toot my own horn, but I believe Chyros could do the same, he wasn't terribad at BC2 in the shooting department. Despite only having gotten the game a few hours ago.
Let me condense my point about ACOGs and weapons/loadouts that I say "fail": it's not impossible to get kills with stuff like that, at times you will do amazing, surely... but if you take stuff that doesn't have disadvantages and which is considered "competitive", you will do amazing every time instead of once every week, so to speak. If you do well with an ACOG, I promise you you will do better on average if you practice with a RDS, and with yet more training you'll find iron sights give you yet better results. You don't necessarily only get good games with competitive loadouts, but you'll do better on average, and you might even do better at peak performance 8| .

Also, "high idling" means the weapon sways a lot when aiming down the sights. In the case of an CoD 4 ACOG, up to four degrees at a relative speed of 1,5 units (by comparison, sniper rifles idle four degrees at 2,0 speed - four degrees is basically base hip spread of an LMG).

I have not at any point posted anything with malicious intent in mind, Wizard. Sorry if anyone read it that way.

Chyros : I don't play competitively anymore, I know that's not what you are saying. But I really play to have fun. I figured about the high idling time, I haven't seen a game that makes that sort of thing render a gun useless truthfully.

I didn't post those weapon loadouts to say you fail, either.

There are many movie references hidden in that trailer.

When the narrator says "You will act above the law", it looks like one of assasination scenes from the Godfather Part II in Cuba (I think I am remembering this correctly). Another one I caught was the motorbike scene, which reminds me of The Terminator in T2 when he reloads the shotgun - in this case, a Model 1887. At the end, Russian Roulette from Deer Hunter.

Looking forward to the release of this.

'Tis funny how Activision roll out all this new info on the day that Medal of Honor is released. :P

Most of the reloads in those vids are lifted straight off of MW2 :P . The AUG one's is from the AUG HBAR, the Skorpion's is from the M93R, the Kiparis' is from the TMP, the AW may be from the WA2000. Oh well, better than them making their own, since the Spectre's is rather awful, and the G11's almost unbearable :xD: .

Still, utter and complete lack of recoil and presence of DVK notwithstanding, I'm getting more and more excited about the game. I've decided to give it a try and buy it - the added public alone should be a good merit.

Is it me or did Trey give the sound fx guys a shitload of money, then left them alone for 6 months while they got high, drunk and ordered in a hookers, then realised with two weeks left that they closest they had to a gun noise was the sound of one of them lighting their own farts, so they ran out to buy a bag or marbles and proceeded to drop them on any surface they could fine, ie., just a tin roof and tiled floor?

It's not you. Gun sounds are horrible.

theyve confirmed that the winchester is not a weapon in the game, and is used only during the motorcycle chase. (Most likely a reference to T2)

I'm curious as to what you guys think constitutes a good reload animation or a good gun sound.

Some examples then:
reload:

firing sound:

I'd link to a dozen more vids but the amount of imbeds would kill bad connections. Also, the sounds are of course a lot better ingame, but this'll have to do.

I never said EVERYTHING about BC2 was bad. I was really disappointed they didn't have an M60 in MW2, for one (even though the CoD 4 one was of course not all that good).

There is no M60 reload in that Bad Company 2 video. :P

As for the weapon sounds in Black Ops, I think they are fine. While they are not as good as Bad Company 2's, they are no worse than anything I've heard in an Infinity Ward CoD. I think they are better than IW's.

It's there for it's firing sound, not it's reload.

Perfect Dark Zero's reload animations hold up till this day. They were one of the things that Rare did right.

what song is that in the background of that video of the AK reload? i checked the comments but it didnt say...

Also the MW2 m240 is a fuckin badass gun, kinda sucks in game, but i love the sound, animations, and rate of fire of that thing. that being said, all of these games are gonna have good and bad sound effects. for example:

Cod 4: m60, m249, and AK stand out, but mp5 is pretty lame
MW2: m240, AK, and vector were some of my favorites, but the UMP and PP2K are some of the worst sound effects ive ever heard. i dont see how you people keep on overlooking that.

speaking of that, i dont get why so many people hate on BC2, i love that game (on consoles), but my damn disc broke :P

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.
