Yeah, well, that's in my nature :xD: .

Its all about playstyle. You may suck with shotguns but theres bound to be someone who'll rape shit with it.
The point I'm trying to make is, sure you can make a lot of kills with it sometimes, but the pros of the weapons do not outweigh the cons, and shotguns just have very little things on competitive weapons. I mean, it shoots bullets, so it will kill, of course, just like anything in the game. But so do better weapons, and with both more ease and many many fewer weaknesses you'd needlessly put yourself through if you go for a shotgun 8| .

Take the MAC-11 as a perfect example of what I mean, to illustrate my point. The MAC-11 shares many things with the FAMAS; it has identical rate of fire and recoil, for example. However, it deals less damage at all ranges, and has a 20-round magazine instead of a 30-round one like the FAMAS, and it reloads slower as well. The tradeoff is a slightly smaller hip spread (which should be pretty irrelevant to begin with) and a 5% increase in movespeed (which don't save you in combat). The pros are utterly irrelevant next to the cons. Of course you can still make kills with it, it does damage after all. But why use something that you can tell at first glance is inferior in every way that matters?

There are dozens of examples of these kind of matchups where there is a clear winner and a clear loser, because Treyarch used a very limited palette of gun parameters. There are only two rates of fire for automatic weapons, all assault rifles and most LMGs and sniper rifles do the same damage, the amount of recoil patterns on the weapons is very limited, etc. You just look for the weapons that have the higher of the two rates of fire, the lower of the roughly speaking three recoil patterns and the higher damage classes and you end up with the FAMAS and AK-74u. These weapons are the best because they have the best statistics in every class, basically. Every other weapon you take that's not that will take a hit in RoF or damage or recoil or a combination of them. Just because they can still kill, doesn't mean they're not outclassed by certain weapons by definition.

Rent it before dropping the big bucks or get a lend of it from a friend.

That makes all the sense in the world...

Ghost notes happen often in games and in case you dont know, thats when they write a change in the patch logs but in reality it never happened (his example was the weapon "xxx" had its stats changed by "###" and "###" values but in the end no actual change was made)

I checked Kirksons place after every update, I don't recall anything like that in BC2. It's not that I doubt you that they'd do that, as they did it in Bf2, but still.

Hey I never said it happened in BC2...I only explained his statement to you. I dont play BC2 so I wouldnt know but the fact is that "ghost notes" arent non-existant in games

And my point is that shotguns and SMG's arent nerfed/shit compared to the other games just because there are 2 retarded weapons in the game (ofc I mean the AK74u and the FAMAS...which is also retardedly potrayed)

Well I haven't paid any attention to that...but we better get back on the topic of BO.

I wonder why they refuse to make campaign coop, they reason as letting the player immerse in the campaign but they ignore all the voices that say campaign would be so much more fun with friends...|: They could just choose to play with friends or not, it's a win-win situation.

Heh, they would never dare to include WaW maps - they sucked balls and were nowhere near as popular as the big CoD 4 maps.

They can't even make multiplayer playable with friends, let alone the campaign 8| . Besides, I'm not sure if it would be worth the effort - personally I found the campaign more annoying than exciting and pretty bleak and uninteresting.

Here's a PS3 player's perspective of Black Flops that gave me a hearty chuckle or three. This one's for you, AllStarZ:

Second Chance dissected:

If people don't complain, stuff like this will continue to be put into the games we play.

In other news, EA's CEO had this to say about Treyarch:

Quote

"The question, I think, really is, 'what developer is going to put forward the next great FPS that sort of follows [what Infinity Ward did]?” It’s wishful thinking, and let’s hope for Activision’s sake they’re right. I think it’s far from proven that the gaming consumer views a product from Treyarch in the same category as a product from what was Infinity Ward."

So, I've been playing the campaign for a while now and I have a little question : Is it normal that the allied AI is so dumb? I mean, come on, every time they advance to the next position they just ignore any enemy that might be standing right next to them :P
I'm playing on the highest difficulty level btw, and I would really be fine with the enemy aimbots if my squad was actually useful...

Yep.

Now I don't really play multiplayer, but even in Combat Training, the respawn is f'd up, and even in Combat Training there's that lag, which shouldn't be an issue since you're playing against bots. In some hours of MP, everyone's using Ghost, more or less, and everyone's using Ak74u/Famas.

Unlike the guy however, I might trade it in next year for some other game.

[/quote]Though his "like" count is over 9000 per minute, he is so right on almost all counts it's not even funny. This is exactly what's wrong with the game, guys, listen well to him. Treyarch just can't make games, everything about BO screams that at epic loudness, and the only people who like it are Zombies hippies - I don't see how it is physically possible to prefer BO's MP mode over MW2's MP mode, even if you don't experience the weird internal PC stutter that they can't seem to fix even though the game looks worse than CoD 4.

I have played all of them except CoD 3, and I cannot recall any game in which the allied AI didn't actively hinder you in everything you did. It's been less in the more recent ones though - in the oldest ones, they would keep moving right in front of you, you'd shoot them, and it'd be game over due to friendly fire :xD: .

Call of Duty: Black Ops continues to set industry sales records.

Activision's latest title has now surpassed $1 billion in sales worldwide since launch, according to internal company estimates. Through the first five days on sale, Black Ops generated $650 million in sales, exceeding last year's $550 million set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Oh he aint fapping yet!

Quote

The nasty lawsuits between Call of Duty publisher Activision and the ousted lead creators of that hit series got nastier today with accusations that the president of rival EA was instrumental in trying to "hijack" the Call of Duty developers.

And there's more mud being slung. Activision also says the makers of Modern Warfare gleefully sabotaged the sister studio behind this year's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Activision spelled this out in a legal filing today through which they intend to add Medal of Honor and Battlefield publisher EA — their Coke-vs-Pepsi rival — to their lawsuit against Jason West and Vince Zampella, the founders of original CoD studio Infinity Ward. West and Zampella were fired by Activision in March for alleged acts of insubordination, just months after the studio the men founded finished and released the huge hit Modern Warfare 2.

West and Zampella sued Activison last spring. Activision had sued them back. (Read a summary of the Call of Duty Legal Warfare that has ensued up until now.)

Activision now wants at least $400 million from EA and has described a series of clandestine efforts by EA to woo West and Zampella away.

In its filing today, Activision also has spelled out what it says were acts by West and Zampella to hurt Treyarch, the Activision-owned studio that just released the mammoth Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Kotaku has reached out to EA and the attorney for West and Zampella for comment about today's court filings.

Who knows how any of this will affect gamers, but it makes for sensational reading, suggesting just how bitter the rivalries among some of gaming's most powerful companies may be.

Quote

Activision's legal filing today sets this up:

Unable to compete with Activision and Infinity Ward, and, upon information and belief, enraged by the recent defection of two Electronic Arts executives to Activision (unlike West and Zampella, the executives who left Electronic Arts were not under employment contracts), Electronic Arts was determined to retaliate. Electronic Arts set out to destabilize, disrupt and to attempt to destroy Infinity Ward. Although the precise dates the scheme was conceived and initiated remain somewhat unknown to Activision it was clearly underway no later than July 30, 2009.

Welp, you've swayed me.

I'm not getting the game and I'll exchange it if I get it for Christmas.

Should I consider Bad Company 2 for either PS3 or PC?
