Just wondering here, do any of you guys play MW2 on hardcore? Cause I see you complaining about damage all the time, but since I only play in hardcore mode (normal is for noobs), the players have so much health that they die with a single bullet to the torso. It also makes stopping power pretty much useless against most weapons...
Hardcore mode is several times more unbalanced than normal mode. It removes basically every single balancing nuance in the game and removes a lot of features supposed to be integral to the game, too. It's mostly played by players who can't shoot well enough to make kills in normal mode, I've noticed. Many factors of skill which you can use in vanilla play to determine where an enemy is, are lost in hardcore, so basically it's actually hardcore that's for noobs, not the other way around, because you don't need any skill at all to do well in it, and it discourages skilled playing.

hardcore is an interesting mode and in many ways it's more balanced than vanilla play. however since it's, well, hardcore, it's a bit harder to quickly enjoy a casual game. it's fun but not always.
I can assure you there isn't a single aspect in which hardcore is more balanced than normal play.

Hardcore is not so much a shooter but more of a first-person-"who spots who first" kinda thing. It has it's interesting aspects, but it's not as entertaining in the long run as normal mode, imho.
Yeah, but having a map that shows you the exact location of every person who shoots a single bullet is ridiculous,
Well you can always use a silencer... Besides, it's an element of skill to be able to piece together a full picture of what's happening. This is much less possible on hardcore.

and so is the presence of a crosshair imho. Why even include iron sights if you have a crosshair?
FYI, you're not supposed to use the crosshairs. If you do, you're not playing the game very well
